Pakistan successfully executed a training launch of the Abdali Weapon System, a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers, on Saturday as part of Exercise INDUS.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the launch was aimed at evaluating the operational readiness of the troops. Additionally, it provided an opportunity to assess key technical components, including the missile’s advanced navigation system and enhanced maneuverability features.

The test was observed by senior officials from the Army Strategic Forces Command, Strategic Plans Division, and other strategic military organizations, alongside scientists and engineers involved in Pakistan’s defense programs.

Pakistan’s leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and heads of the armed forces, congratulated the personnel involved in the successful exercise. They expressed strong confidence in the operational readiness and technical capabilities of Pakistan’s strategic forces, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to maintaining a credible defense posture against any external threats.
