Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has underscored the critical role of the National Police Bureau (NPB) in overhauling and improving the country’s policing system.

During a meeting at the NPB headquarters in Islamabad on Saturday, Naqvi said the bureau is central to shaping effective policies, implementing reforms, and fostering coordination among law enforcement agencies nationwide.

He called for a comprehensive action plan to modernize the bureau and directed the immediate acquisition of research and analysis software to better track and study crime patterns across the country.

Naqvi also instructed officials to accelerate the issuance of police character certificates under the NPB’s framework.

Highlighting the importance of international collaboration, the interior minister advocated for enhanced partnerships with global organizations and recommended sending more officers abroad for advanced training and international postings.
