The British Council has cancelled all board exams scheduled in Lahore for today, citing the prevailing security situation. In a brief statement, the organization stated that the decision was made with the safety of candidates as the top priority.
This announcement marks a shift from the British Council Pakistan’s stance just a day earlier, when it had confirmed that all exams would continue as scheduled despite escalating military tensions between Pakistan and India. In a statement posted on Facebook at the time, the Council had said, “All exams scheduled for today will proceed as planned. We will keep you updated if there are any changes.”
Previously, students had been advised to contact their respective schools or the Customer Services Centre, in the case of private candidates, for any exam-related queries.
The British Council has not yet announced when the cancelled examinations will be rescheduled.
