Pakistan has launched a retaliatory cyber attack, successfully hacking several Indian websites, including those of the Assam Rifles, the Department of Atomic Energy, and the Indian Defence Production. The attack, which has been widely reported by security sources, has exposed sensitive information from these websites.
The data from the Indian Defence Production website has reportedly been put up for sale on the dark web. In addition to this, the hacked websites have been defaced with messages alleging India’s involvement in terrorism, with one prominent message reading: “India is a hub of terrorism.”
This cyber assault highlights the growing tensions between the two countries, with Pakistan’s cyber capabilities striking a significant blow to India’s digital infrastructure. The defaced websites now bear evidence of Indian terrorism, adding fuel to the ongoing hostilities between the two nuclear-armed nations.
The attack underscores the limitations of India’s claims of technological superiority in the information technology sector, with its defense and critical infrastructure now vulnerable to cyber threats. The international community is watching closely as the conflict between the two neighbors escalates both in the physical and digital realms.
