In light of rising tensions between Pakistan and India, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved an internal security fund worth Rs 2 billion to bolster safety and preparedness across the province.
The fund, allocated by the Punjab Home Department, will be distributed among district deputy commissioners to ensure swift and efficient responses to any emergencies. These resources will be used to procure essential supplies such as rations, fuel, and medical supplies to support law enforcement, civil defense, and rescue operations.
The Home Department emphasized that the fund’s primary purpose is to strengthen public welfare and enhance emergency preparedness, ensuring all safety mechanisms are in place in case of unforeseen situations. Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and refrain from spreading or believing unverified information during this period of heightened security concerns.
Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels and follow government instructions to ensure their safety.
