The issue came to light during a live broadcast on India’s prominent news channel, NDTV, as the situation between the nuclear-armed neighbors escalated.
In the wake of Pakistan’s military offensive, dubbed “Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” an Indian reporter, speaking via video link, made an unintentional admission during a live broadcast. The reporter, appearing visibly frustrated, confessed to airing inaccurate information under pressure from their superiors.
“First, they say, ‘Give us an update! Give us an update!’ then they air the fake news and ask us why we reported it,” the reporter stated, seemingly upset about the situation.
