Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old Mexican beauty influencer, was tragically shot dead during a live TikTok session at her beauty salon in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. The incident has shocked her followers and sparked an ongoing police investigation.

According to reports, Márquez was interacting with her audience on TikTok when an unidentified assailant entered the salon and opened fire. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Authorities are treating the case as an act of femicide — a term used in Mexico to describe the gender-based killing of women.

A viral video from the live session shows Valeria holding a toy moments before the attack. Just prior to the gunshots, a voice can be heard saying “Hey Vale,” to which she responds, “Yes.” Seconds later, multiple gunshots are heard, and she was killed on the spot.

Valeria Márquez had built a large following on social media, with nearly 200,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram, where she regularly shared beauty tips and lifestyle content.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and are working to identify the perpetrator.
