Arshad Nadeem, Neeraj Chopra Set for Gold Medal Clash in Tokyo Final Today

Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem will take on India’s Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra in a much-anticipated final of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Thursday. The showdown begins at 3:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time and promises to be a gripping contest.

High-Stakes Final
The final field features 12 of the world’s best, including Germany’s world No. 1 Julian Weber and defending champion Neeraj Chopra. Both Nadeem and Chopra qualified comfortably, setting up a headline rivalry between South Asia’s two finest throwers.

Road to the Final
Arshad Nadeem booked his place with an 85.28m throw on his third and final attempt, recovering after opening efforts of 76.99m and 74.17m. Chopra, meanwhile, stamped his authority early, clearing the automatic qualification mark on his very first attempt with a throw of 84.85m.

The Rivalry Renewed
Neeraj Chopra is seeking to defend his world title and add another historic gold to his career. For Arshad Nadeem, the Tokyo final offers a chance not only to make history for Pakistan but also to settle a long-standing sporting rivalry.

This marks the first direct encounter between the two athletes since the Paris Olympics — and significantly, since heightened tensions between India and Pakistan earlier this year.

All eyes are now on Tokyo’s National Stadium, where one of the fiercest battles in athletics will unfold today: Arshad Nadeem versus Neeraj Chopra, with gold on the line.
