Islamabad (RNN TV) — A local court in Islamabad has ordered the arrest of Advocate Imaan Mazari and Advocate Abdul Hadi Ali Chatha after issuing non-bailable warrants in a case tied to controversial remarks on social media regarding state and security institutions.
The matter was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka, who instructed that both lawyers be taken into custody and produced before the court on September 24.
Counsel for Mazari and Chatha attempted to have the warrants withdrawn by submitting cancellation pleas, but the judge rejected the requests immediately, ruling that the earlier directive would stand.
The two lawyers had previously been summoned by the court but did not comply with the notices, leading to the latest order for their arrest.
