LAHORE (RNN TV) — A local court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Bushra Iqbal, the first ex-wife of late television host and former lawmaker Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, over allegations of running a malicious propaganda campaign against journalist Yasir Shami.
According to court proceedings, Bushra Iqbal had earlier filed a cybercrime case against Yasir Shami. However, during the course of the case, she allegedly continued to spread false accusations and misleading narratives on social media, aimed at defaming the anchorperson.
The court was informed that she misreported details of the ongoing cybercrime case and repeatedly leveled unfounded allegations against Shami, which were deemed to be part of a deliberate smear campaign.
Following the evidence presented, the court ordered non-bailable arrest warrants to be issued against Bushra Iqbal, reaffirming that defamatory campaigns and misuse of legal proceedings would not be tolerated.
