
LAHORE (RNN TV) — Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif met with Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari to discuss developments in the energy sector.
During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif was briefed about the reduction in electricity prices and the ongoing efforts to address challenges in the energy sector. Mr Sharif acknowledged the reduction in electricity prices and noted the difficulty of implementing such changes while the country remains under the IMF programme.
Sardar Awais Leghari also informed Nawaz Sharif about the steps being taken to further reduce electricity costs, including the establishment of an open market and measures aimed at addressing electricity theft and circular debt. Leghari highlighted ongoing reforms within the energy sector.
The discussion also touched upon the work of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team in managing the energy crisis. Leghari expressed his appreciation for the guidance provided by Nawaz Sharif in achieving these objectives.
This meeting comes at a time when the government is focused on providing relief to the public while navigating financial constraints.
