LAHORE (RNN TV) — The Punjab government has officially launched its first Environment Protection Force (EPF) to combat pollution and safeguard the environment.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended the passing-out ceremony of this newly formed, modern force, which will work to ensure environmental sustainability. Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari were also present at the event.

A flag hoisting ceremony was held on the occasion, and the EPF vigilance squad presented a salute to the chief minister.

While addressing the ceremony, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that forming the force was a timely and crucial step. She noted that the EPF is a reflection of CM Maryam Nawaz’s strong commitment to environmental protection.

She emphasized that the Punjab government has prioritized environmental preservation since day one.

Criticizing past administrations, she stated that previous governments failed to take serious measures to address environmental issues.

Aurangzeb lauded the efforts of the Secretary of Environment and the Director General of the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), adding that dedicating resources to this department marks a major milestone.

She further highlighted that the chief minister’s vision for environmental protection has been successfully implemented within a year.

For the first time in Punjab’s history, a significant budget has been allocated specifically for environmental conservation.

She concluded by stating that the Environmental Protection Force is now fully equipped with modern tools and advanced technology to meet today’s environmental challenges.
