
RAWALPINDI (RNN TV) — A local court in Rawalpindi has granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Alia Hamza. Judicial Magistrate Qamar Abbas approved her release on bail against surety bonds worth Rs. 100,000.
Alia Hamza was previously sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on April 19. She had been arrested in connection with a case registered at the Airport Police Station.
The case, which also names five other PTI workers, includes charges of interfering in official duties and resisting law enforcement. According to police, Alia Hamza and her associates were advised to refrain from unlawful activities but allegedly resisted and clashed with police.
The FIR includes allegations of blocking a public road, pelting stones at police, and obstructing official operations.
