Renowned Pakistani television actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in Karachi, bringing a somber end to the life of one of the country’s beloved entertainment icons.
The 76-year-old actress was discovered in her residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 7, on Wednesday, June 18. According to media reports, her body was found nearly a week after her death. Neighbours, concerned by a foul smell coming from her apartment, alerted local authorities. Upon entering the premises, police found her body in a state of decomposition, suggesting she had passed away several days earlier.
Her remains were transported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause and timing of death. Following the medico-legal procedures, her body was handed over to the Edhi Foundation’s morgue in Sohrab Goth.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. While no evidence of foul play has been found so far, authorities are attempting to reach any surviving family members and are interviewing neighbours for more information.
