Aleema Khan

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) —  The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has informed the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi that the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and passport of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, have been blocked following court directives.

The development came during a hearing on Thursday related to the November 26 protest case, in which Aleema and ten others have been nominated as accused.

Presided over by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, the hearing saw the appearance of other suspects and prosecution witnesses, while Aleema and her legal team remained absent once again. Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah attended the proceedings along with his team.

Due to her repeated failure to appear before the court, the judge reissued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan for the sixth time.

NADRA submitted its report confirming that Aleema’s identification documents had been officially blocked in compliance with the court’s earlier orders.

In a related matter, the court also heard the case of Arif Khan, a co-accused who had taken custody of a vehicle used during the protest. As he failed to furnish the required surety bonds, the court ordered his imprisonment.

The ATC subsequently adjourned the hearing, directing the prosecution to ensure full compliance with its instructions ahead of the next session.
