Pakistani javelin ace Arshad Nadeem has respectfully declined an invitation from Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra to compete in the upcoming Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw Championship.

Sources close to the athlete revealed that Arshad had already finalized his training and competition schedule for the year prior to receiving the invitation. Consequently, he will be unable to travel to India for the event.

Neeraj Chopra had extended a personal invitation in hopes of gathering elite javelin throwers at the Bengaluru meet. However, Arshad is currently focused on his preparations for the Asian Athletics Championships, set to take place in South Korea later this May.

The Pakistani thrower is scheduled to depart for South Korea on May 22, with the Championships beginning on May 27. His decision underscores a commitment to prioritizing key international competitions in the run-up to the 2024 season.
