DUBAI (Web Desk) — Pakistan’s Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem has been honoured with the Global Breakthrough Athlete Award at the World Sports Summit held in Dubai on Monday.
The two-day summit, taking place on December 29–30, has brought together more than 1,500 athletes, sports leaders, and policymakers from around the world to discuss the future of global sports under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sport,” according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, along with other officials, praised Nadeem’s achievement. “Arshad Nadeem is our pride,” Tarar wrote in a post on X.
Nadeem made history in August 2024 by winning Pakistan’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in javelin, recording a massive 92.97-metre throw at the Paris Olympics. He has also won medals at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, further cementing his status as one of Pakistan’s greatest athletes.
In November 2025, Nadeem added another gold medal to his achievements by winning the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a throw of 83.05 metres.
