ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has issued a strong warning to India, cautioning that it fails to grasp the catastrophic consequences of provoking a nuclear-armed state. He declared that any misadventure would trigger an immediate and decisive response from Pakistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks during a visit to the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad, where he addressed graduates of the National Security and War Course. He underscored the evolving nature of modern warfare and stressed the need for civil-military coordination, mental preparedness, professional competence, and a deep understanding of emerging strategic challenges.
Speaking on recent regional developments, Field Marshal Munir criticized India’s response following the failure of Operation Sindoor, calling its justifications “illogical” and indicative of poor operational readiness and strategic misjudgment. He said India’s inability to acknowledge Pakistan’s strategic capabilities reveals a lack of foresight.
He further condemned India’s consistent selfishness and narrow approach in international relations, contrasting it with Pakistan’s track record of forming principled, long-term partnerships rooted in mutual respect and diplomacy. He asserted that Pakistan continues to play a stabilizing role in the region.
Rejecting Indian claims of external support for Pakistan’s success during Operation Sindoor, Munir labeled them “baseless and irresponsible,” emphasizing that they reflect India’s refusal to recognize Pakistan’s independent military achievements.
He also criticized India’s attempts to involve third parties in bilateral military matters, calling it a sign of weak political strategy. He argued that such efforts are aimed at falsely projecting India as a regional security provider, even as neighboring countries grow wary of its aggressive stance and Hindutva-driven policies.
Field Marshal Munir made it clear that any threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty, whether against its people, military installations, ports, or economic centers, would be met with a forceful and unforgiving response. “Our reply will be harsher and more effective than the enemy anticipates,” he warned.
Concluding his remarks, he stated that India’s failure to understand the risks of provoking a nuclear state could lead to disastrous consequences. He held India solely responsible for any future escalation, describing it as an “arrogant aggressor lacking strategic insight.” He emphasized that true military success is not achieved through media rhetoric or imported weaponry, but through belief, professionalism, operational clarity, and national resolve.
