RAWALPINDI (RNN TV) — Senior PTI leaders on Monday conveyed fresh directions from party founder Imran Khan, who urged his supporters to prepare for the “next phase,” remain peaceful, and reject terrorism. He also condemned what he described as efforts to crush PTI and rob it of its electoral mandate.

After meeting Imran Khan at Adiala Jail following the Toshakhana-II hearing, his sister Aleema Khan told reporters that he had instructed the party to focus on peace and the future. She said Khan dismissed criticism of his social media account, telling the FIA that he represented “80% of Pakistanis” and could not be silenced. He also stressed that dialogue, not confrontation, was the path forward with Afghanistan.

Aleema quoted him as saying that Mohsin Naqvi had “ruined cricket with poor decisions,” adding that every team was capable but mismanagement had weakened the sport. She said Khan reiterated his claim that PTI had been “crushed” and its votes “stolen” in the last election, while also criticizing judicial appointments after the 26th Amendment.

PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja confirmed that Imran had issued new instructions for the parliamentary party. He said Khan was dissatisfied with arrangements at the recent Peshawar rally, particularly the choice of venue and poor management, though he stopped short of calling the rally itself a failure.

Raja also rejected the perception that Aleema Khan interferes in party matters, saying she only conveys her brother’s messages. “The founder’s narrative is pro-state. I fail to see what the so-called anti-state tweets are,” he added.

He criticized the conditions of Khan’s trial in the May 9 cases, claiming hearings were conducted “over WhatsApp,” leaving the PTI founder unable to consult lawyers or face witnesses. He said Khan wanted these concerns raised strongly in the High Court.

Meanwhile, PTI lawyer Salman Safdar suggested that the Al-Qadir Trust case would only be pursued after Toshakhana-II concluded. He noted that cases such as Cipher, Iddat, and Toshakhana-I had already run their course, making it unlikely Khan and Bushra Bibi would be imprisoned under them.

He added that proceedings in Toshakhana-II were adjourned due to a power outage at the courtroom, even though the hearing stretched beyond official hours.
