Islamabad (RNN TV) — Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, paid an official visit to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad, where he met with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. The meeting focused on enhancing defence cooperation and addressing the evolving regional and geo-strategic environment.

During the discussion, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the importance of closer coordination in the face of emerging regional challenges. The Air Chief expressed appreciation for China’s consistent support, highlighting Beijing’s vital role in technology transfer, research and development, and capacity building within Pakistan’s defence sector.

He reiterated the PAF’s commitment to expanding joint exercises, training programs, and high-level military exchanges under various bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

Ambassador Jiang praised the Pakistan Air Force for its exceptional professionalism, particularly during recent tensions in the region. He commended the effective use of Chinese-origin defence technology by the PAF, noting it as a testament to the strength of bilateral collaboration.

The Ambassador also welcomed Pakistan’s growing focus on indigenous defence production, stating that China would continue providing technical support to bolster local capability and strengthen Pakistan’s overall defence posture.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen strategic ties and further enhance military-to-military cooperation to ensure regional peace and stability.
