A 4.9 magnitude earthquake jolted Quetta and nearby areas on Monday afternoon, sparking panic among residents. According to the National Seismological Centre, the quake struck at a depth of 21 km with its epicentre located 125 km northwest of Quetta.

No casualties or damage have been reported so far. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) confirmed that emergency teams are on alert and monitoring the situation. Authorities have urged the public to stay calm and report any emergencies via official helplines.
