Fawad claimed that some individuals secured seats in the National Assembly and Senate by leveraging Khan’s name, while privately hoping for his conviction and that of other senior leaders.

He said, “PTI lawyers and current leaders are trying to take over the party. There’s now a race to reach Imran Khan and mislead him with false information.”

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry launched a scathing attack on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legal team and current leadership, accusing them of betraying party founder Imran Khan and colluding with the government.

Speaking to media, Fawad said, “Not a single PTI lawyer appeared in the Supreme Court today. They are undermining the rights of Imran Khan.” He alleged that the current leadership was working in coordination with government circles to sideline Khan.

Physical altercation with Shoaib Shaheen

Earlier, tensions within PTI intensified as Fawad Chaudhry allegedly slapped party leader Shoaib Shaheen outside Adiala Jail, following a heated argument. The incident reportedly occurred at Gate No. 5 of the prison.

According to sources, the clash stemmed from derogatory remarks Shaheen allegedly made about Fawad during a TV program. Fawad confronted him, leading to a physical exchange during which Shaheen claimed to have suffered a hand injury.

Shaheen later complained to Imran Khan, accusing Fawad of assault. In response, Fawad stated the issue was sparked by Shaheen’s “disrespectful comments” but confirmed the matter had since been resolved after Khan intervened.

It is worth mentioning that PTI officially parted ways with Fawad Chaudhry on December 1, 2024, following instructions from Imran Khan.
