
LAHORE (Press Release) — The fifth annual Rhymes and Story Enactment competitions, organised by the Unique Group of Institutions, were held at Unique High School, Wahdat Road, on Saturday.
The event was presided over by Chairman of the Unique Group, Prof Abdul Mannan Khurram, while Provincial Law Minister and senior parliamentarian Rana Muhammad Iqbal was the chief guest.
Among other distinguished guests were MPA Tahseen Fawad, renowned singer Nimra Mehra, singer Tariq Tafu and Azan Ali Baga. The panel of judges included famous producer Ainak Wala Jin’s Haseeb Pasha, noted poet Prof Nasir Bashir, and well-known children’s poet Raheela Ashraf.
Addressing the ceremony, Rana Muhammad Iqbal said that the future of Pakistan lies in the hands of children, and that the country’s future can be made brighter through their effective and positive grooming. He appreciated the Unique Group for promoting co-curricular activities, stating that such initiatives play a vital role in character building and confidence development among children.
He added that teachers play a crucial role in students’ upbringing, and respect for teachers is essential for success in life.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Abdul Mannan Khurram said that the purpose of organising such competitions is to nurture future leaders into responsible individuals and proud Pakistanis. He explained that these competitions are held for children from playgroup to grade two, aiming to strengthen the foundation of early childhood development.
He emphasised that along with academic activities, co-curricular activities are indispensable in educational institutions as they help in the positive grooming of students.
Renowned artists present at the event praised the Unique Group’s efforts, stating that the performances clearly showed that Pakistan has no shortage of talent and that Unique teachers are playing an excellent role in grooming young students.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, prizes were distributed among the winning teams. In the Rhymes competition, Bahria Town Campus secured first position, while Unique Campus 111-A won the Story Enactment competition.
Vice Chairman Unique Group Afif Ashraf Siddiqui, Rector Prof Amjad Ali Khan, Director Prof Waseem Anwar Chaudhry, Additional Director Muhammad Abdullah, along with a large number of teachers, were also present on the occasion.
