ISLAMABAD/BEIJING (RNN TV) — Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, departed for China on a high-level diplomatic visit aimed at easing regional tensions following one of the most intense military escalations between Pakistan and India in five decades.

The recent conflict saw major cities targeted in missile exchanges, with both nuclear-armed nations engaging in heavy combat. In the midst of the crisis, China extended strong diplomatic and military support to Pakistan, reaffirming its commitment to Islamabad’s territorial integrity.

Dar is visiting Beijing at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. During his trip, the two sides are expected to hold comprehensive discussions on regional security, the evolving geopolitical landscape, and the future of strategic Sino-Pak cooperation.

The visit also comes in the wake of significant military developments. Pakistan reportedly used Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets and PL-15 air-to-air missiles to shoot down six Indian aircraft, including French-made Rafale jets. This marks the first combat use of Chinese platforms against Western military systems, a move analysts say could significantly boost China’s defense exports on the global market.

While political rhetoric remains heated in New Delhi, Indian military officials have signaled a willingness to maintain the current ceasefire, raising hopes for de-escalation.
