LAHORE (RNN TV) — Hafeezullah Sheikh, Special Secretary of the Senate of Pakistan, underscored the strengthening of Pakistan-China relations during his address at the “China-Pakistan Bilateral Trade and Procurement Centre Cooperation Summit”. The summit brought together government officials, business leaders, and investors, marking a significant step in enhancing bilateral trade relations between the two nations.

In his speech, Sheikh expressed sincere gratitude to the organisers for hosting the event and extended his thanks to the Chinese delegation for their ongoing friendship and hospitality towards Pakistan. He described the summit as not only a formal gathering but a symbol of a shared vision rooted in cooperation, trust, and long-term partnership.

“Our relationship with China has always been based on mutual respect, strategic trust, and strong people-to-people ties,” Sheikh said. “This conference reflects that trust and provides an invaluable platform for all stakeholders to come together and explore practical opportunities for collaboration.”

Sheikh highlighted that Pakistan is positioning itself as an emerging, investor-friendly market with vast opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, real estate, energy, renewable resources, agriculture, food processing, electronics, and manufacturing. He pointed to the nation’s young population, strategic geographic location, and improving regulatory frameworks as key factors making Pakistan an attractive hub for investment.

“Pakistan is committed to fostering an environment that supports foreign investment,” Sheikh assured. “We are continuously improving policies to enhance the ease of doing business, ensure investment protection, and promote transparency. Public-private partnerships are central to our strategy for fostering long-term, mutually beneficial growth.”

The Special Secretary stressed the importance of moving beyond short-term business gains and emphasised the need for sustainable partnerships that promote long-term success. He welcomed Chinese investors and expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to collaborate on projects that would drive economic development.

“I want to send a clear message to our Chinese friends and investors: Pakistan welcomes you with open arms and a long-term vision,” Sheikh said. “We value your expertise, your technology, and your commitment to development.”

Concluding his address, Sheikh highlighted that conferences like this play a crucial role in turning ideas into actions and relationships into tangible results. He reiterated the importance of continued cooperation between the two nations to promote prosperity.
