
LAHORE (RNN TV) — The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the official vaccination schedule for Pakistani pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2025, with vaccinations starting today.
Pilgrims in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Multan will begin receiving the mandatory meningitis vaccine today. Those in Karachi, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Faisalabad, and Sialkot are set to be vaccinated starting April 22. In Quetta, the vaccinations will take place on Wednesday.
The Saudi government has made the meningitis vaccine mandatory for all citizens and international pilgrims participating in Hajj 2025. Proof of vaccination is now required for Hajj package registration, as per the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Authorities emphasize that this measure is essential to prevent the spread of infectious diseases during the annual pilgrimage, which attracts millions of people from around the globe.
Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will begin its pre-Hajj flight operations on April 29. Over 56,000 pilgrims are expected to travel to Saudi Arabia on 280 flights, with PIA utilizing Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 aircraft.
