ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) – Political analyst Usman Shami has raised concerns over a potential backdoor deal between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the United States following the recent visit of Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim and Suleman, to America.
Shami questioned whether PTI is offering concessions in exchange for U.S. support to secure relief for the jailed former prime minister. “The real question is: what is being traded for possible intervention?” he said.
He warned that if the visit results in relief for Khan, it could undermine his political legacy and raise credibility concerns. If unsuccessful, it would be seen as a failed attempt.
Shami also criticized PTI’s inconsistent stance on U.S. policy, noting that while the party praises American human rights values, the U.S. acts based on its strategic interests.
He urged PTI to resolve political issues through internal dialogue rather than relying on foreign powers, emphasizing that sustainable solutions must come from within Pakistan.
