LAHORE (RNN TV) — The Punjab government has appointed renowned actress and model Iffat Omar as its cultural advisor, a role in which she will focus on revitalizing and promoting cultural activities across the province.

A dedicated office has been set up for her at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore, where she is currently carrying out her official duties. In this capacity, Omar will oversee and plan cultural initiatives and efforts to preserve traditional arts throughout Punjab.

Her appointment has been welcomed by various circles, with many hopeful that her extensive experience and vision will significantly contribute to the growth of cultural activities in the region.

Omar, a known supporter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has been vocal about her political affiliations, including her support during the tenure of the PTI government.

A prominent figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, Iffat Omar began her career in the late 1980s as a high-fashion model. She gained recognition for her work with top designers and later transitioned into acting, starring in popular television dramas like Mohabbat Aag Si, where her portrayal of Aapa Ji garnered critical acclaim.

In addition to her work in entertainment, Omar is also a passionate activist, advocating for social issues, particularly women’s rights.
