The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other relevant parties in response to petitions filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, seeking the suspension of their sentences in the £190 million reference.

The hearing was presided over by Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif. During the proceedings, Advocate Latif Khosa, representing the petitioners, requested that the case be scheduled for hearing next Wednesday.

The court accepted the request and directed that the matter be fixed for a hearing next week. Formal notices were subsequently issued to all respondents.

Previously, an accountability court had sentenced the PTI founder to 14 years in prison and Bushra Bibi to 7 years in the same case, which involves allegations related to a £190 million financial scandal.

The IHC will now review the appeals for suspension of the convictions in the coming week.
