RAWALPINDI (RNN TV) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday emphasized that restoring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) mandate is essential not just for the party, but for the democratic stability of the country.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail after meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, Gandapur said the jailed leader is ready to engage in dialogue “for the sake of Pakistan.”

“This was my first meeting with Imran Khan in two months,” Gandapur shared. “I briefed him on governance and the upcoming budget. He reiterated, ‘The darkest hour is just before dawn’ and stressed that no state can be sustained by force alone.”

The KP CM warned that if PTI leaders continue to be denied access to Imran Khan, the party may reconsider its cooperation with the federal government — particularly on matters such as IMF agreements. “Every institution must fulfill its constitutional role. We fully support our leader’s words, which represent PTI’s united stance,” he stated.

Calling for fair and speedy judicial proceedings, Gandapur said the cases against Imran Khan are politically motivated and should be dismissed on merit. He also condemned state repression, saying, “We protested peacefully but were met with bullets. Our aim is not to endanger our workers, but to protect them.”

Reaffirming PTI’s commitment to a legal and constitutional struggle, Gandapur said Imran Khan has reappointed him to lead the protest movement. “Our fight is for justice, and we will secure our leader’s release through every lawful and political avenue,” he concluded.
