Iran has firmly denied accusations from Israel that it violated a recently brokered ceasefire, rejecting claims of renewed missile attacks following the truce.

In statements carried by Iranian state media, officials dismissed the Israeli allegations as “baseless and false.” Iranian state television reported, “Iran denies reports that it fired a missile at Israel after the ceasefire began.” The semi-official ISNA news agency echoed the denial on its Telegram channel, while state-linked Nour News also reaffirmed Tehran’s position.

The rebuttals came after Israel’s Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, accused Iran of a “severe violation” of the ceasefire and promised a military response. “In light of the severe violation of the ceasefire carried out by the Iranian regime, we will respond with force,” Zamir posted on X, in a message amplified by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Israeli officials claim missile launches were detected from Iranian territory shortly after the ceasefire was announced. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a key ally of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, issued a stark warning via social media, declaring, “Tehran will shake.”

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council responded with a statement of its own, warning Israel and its allies against further military action. “Any further aggression will be met with a decisive, firm, and timely response by Iran,” the statement read.

The council praised what it called the Iranian people’s “resilience, unity, and strategic patience,” attributing the recent developments to what it described as the “enemy’s failure.” It also commended the Iranian military for what it termed “decisive and calculated blows” in retaliation for earlier Israeli strikes.

The ceasefire, which had been cautiously welcomed by the international community, is now in jeopardy amid escalating rhetoric and conflicting accounts from both sides.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has also directed the IDF to prepare a forceful response, reinforcing Israel’s stance that Iran breached the truce — a claim Tehran continues to deny.

With both nations on heightened alert, tensions remain high and the risk of renewed conflict looms.
