Celebrity photographer Irfan Ahson has opened up about his experience covering Junaid Safdar’s high-profile wedding, offering rare insights that have reignited public interest in the couple’s divorce.
In a recently posted video, Irfan addressed speculation surrounding his earlier remarks about the marriage, clarifying the context and sharing his personal observations from the event. Hired by the Sharif family to photograph the groom’s side, Irfan praised their hospitality and professionalism, describing Maryam Nawaz as “graceful and respectful throughout.”
However, he noted that the atmosphere surrounding the bride was notably different. Irfan revealed that his team was instructed not to photograph the bride or capture key moments involving her. She reportedly expressed discomfort with media presence and restricted access to the photography team, especially during her entrance and the rukhsati ceremony. According to Irfan, the bride’s family formed a barrier during the event, allowing only their own chosen photographer to document those moments.
“As a professional, I respected their wishes,” Irfan said. “But those restrictions were unusual for a wedding of this scale, and they left a certain impression.”
Without making direct claims, Irfan reflected on how such one-sided control over a shared event could signal deeper issues. “When there’s an imbalance in expectations and openness from the beginning, it can sometimes be an early sign of incompatibility,” he noted.
His remarks have sparked new conversations around the much-discussed wedding, offering a fresh angle on what may have gone wrong — not as gossip, but as a professional’s observation of a uniquely guarded event.
