ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday emphasized the need for a comprehensive policy overhaul to increase Pakistan’s skilled labour exports and align the national workforce with global demands.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on Pakistan’s Emigration, Overseas Employment, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Policy, Dar underlined the importance of restructuring the labour export strategy to meet international standards, according to a statement issued by the DPM Office.

The Deputy PM called for enhanced investment in quality skill development, diversification into emerging global employment sectors, and exploration of new international job markets for Pakistani workers.

“The government is committed to upgrading skill development frameworks and expanding overseas employment opportunities. This will not only boost remittances but also enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness on the global stage,” said Dar.

He stressed that aligning Pakistan’s human capital with international market trends is key to increasing foreign remittances, widening global employment avenues, and improving Pakistan’s economic presence worldwide.

The move is part of a broader push to modernize Pakistan’s labour export strategy in response to evolving demands across sectors such as healthcare, IT, construction, logistics, and renewable energy in countries with growing labour needs.
