ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), stating that a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions remains the only path to ensuring regional peace and upholding the rights of Kashmiris.
In his message on the occasion of Kashmir Accession Day, observed annually on July 19, the premier paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and their continued struggle for self-determination. He said the Government and people of Pakistan will persist in extending diplomatic, political, and moral support to their Kashmiri brethren.
Highlighting the historical significance of the day, the Prime Minister recalled that on July 19, 1947, the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, during a session held in Srinagar, passed a resolution in favor of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan.
He noted that the movement for freedom, which began in 1947, has withstood decades of repression. Despite the presence of over a million Indian troops in the region, the Kashmiri people’s determination has only grown stronger with time.
“The unbreakable spirit and resolve of Kashmiris continues to inspire,” the Prime Minister said. “Even today, the third generation of Kashmiris remains committed to achieving their right to self-determination.”
He described the long-standing struggle of Kashmiris against illegal Indian occupation as a reflection of their patriotism and deep-rooted aspiration for freedom.
