Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a strong statement on social media, asserting that “the Iranian nation is not one that surrenders.” He emphasized that those familiar with Iran’s history understand its unyielding spirit, as tensions in the Middle East remain high.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi underscored that Iran did not initiate the conflict, stating, “It was Israel that started this war.” He praised Iran’s armed forces for their determined response, noting, “Our brave forces have punished the Zionist state until the very last moment.” Araghchi highlighted that Iranian forces retaliated against every enemy attack with full force and pledged that they would defend the nation until the last drop of blood.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the nation, Araghchi lauded the “powerful” Iranian military for its sacrifices and resilience in the face of external aggression. He revealed that Iran’s military operations against the Zionist regime’s aggression continued “until the very last minute,” concluding at 4 a.m. local time. Before the ceasefire took effect, Iranian forces launched a final wave of missiles at the occupied territories, reportedly making direct impacts. Videos circulating online showed air raid sirens in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other cities, with residents rushing to shelters.
Araghchi’s remarks followed an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump on his social media platform, in which he claimed that a “complete and total” ceasefire had been reached between Iran and Israel. According to Trump, the agreement brings an end to the 12-day conflict, which began on June 13 with what Iran described as unprovoked aggression by Israel.
