ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — The National Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution to raise the age limit for Central Superior Services (CSS) examinations from 30 to 35 years, offering broader access to civil service careers for thousands of aspirants.

Moved by PML-N MNA Nausheen Iftikhar, the resolution also proposes increasing the number of allowed attempts to five. The move received cross-party support, reflecting a shared belief that the current age limit is outdated and restrictive, especially for those who pursue higher education or face socioeconomic challenges.

Supporters of the resolution argued that the existing age cap disproportionately affects candidates from underprivileged or remote regions and those engaged in extended academic pursuits.

Though not yet implemented, the resolution has ignited widespread debate and optimism among civil service hopefuls, who see the proposed reform as a long-awaited step toward a more inclusive recruitment process.

The National Assembly adjourned its session until Monday at 5 p.m. following the passage of the resolution.
