
ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) C-130 aircraft on Thursday repatriated the bodies of eight Pakistani nationals from Zahedan, Iran, to Bahawalpur following a deadly terrorist attack in Iran’s Sistan-Balochistan province.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the deceased, all hailing from Bahawalpur district, were victims of a “heinous terrorist attack” while in Iran.
After completion of medico-legal formalities and required documentation, the bodies were handed over to the Pakistani Consul General in Zahedan and subsequently flown back to Pakistan in the early hours of Thursday.
A somber ceremony was held upon the aircraft’s arrival at Bahawalpur Airport, where civil and military officials were present to receive the deceased and offer condolences to the bereaved families.
The Pakistan Armed Forces expressed solidarity with the nation in this hour of grief, reiterating their firm resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs conveyed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, extending heartfelt condolences to the families and praying for strength and patience in the face of this tragedy.
