Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has forcefully condemned India’s state-sponsored terrorism and reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to peace in the region.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, General Chaudhry accused India of using terrorism as an official policy against Pakistan, particularly highlighting Indian-backed activities in Balochistan aimed at undermining national stability.
He linked last month’s tragic bomb attack in Waziristan—which killed 16 Pakistani soldiers and injured over 20—to the banned militant group “Fitna al-Khawarij” (TTP). According to him, India is directly financing and supporting these extremist networks to carry out violence on Pakistani soil.
Hijacking Religion: Fitna al-Khawarij
Explaining the term “Khawarij,” General Chaudhry said it refers to armed groups that falsely claim religious legitimacy while targeting the state and armed forces. He stressed that in Islam, only the state has the authority to wage war, and that these militants distort religion to justify bloodshed.
“This latest wave of Fitna al-Khawarij continues a dangerous ideology that has, for centuries, spread violence and chaos under a false pretext,” he remarked. “These groups neither represent Islam nor the values of Pakistan or humanity.”
India’s Hand: Fitna al-Hindustan
The DG ISPR introduced another term, “Fitna al-Hindustan,” to describe terrorist elements allegedly supported by India. He pointed out that such groups are especially active in Balochistan, spreading unrest through coordinated attacks and propaganda.
General Chaudhry also named India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, as a key figure behind this campaign, claiming Indian leaders have openly boasted about funding terrorism in Pakistan. He added that several Western nations, including the US and Canada, have raised concerns about India’s actions, describing them as an emerging global security threat.
On Iran and Regional Peace
Turning to wider regional issues, General Chaudhry condemned recent Israeli strikes on Iran and expressed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic solidarity with the Iranian people. He underlined that aggression against any Muslim country poses a direct threat to regional peace.
Pakistan’s Nuclear Deterrent
When asked about Pakistan’s nuclear program, General Chaudhry firmly stated that the country’s nuclear arsenal is “completely secure” and forms the backbone of its defense.
“Pakistan is a responsible, declared nuclear power,” he said. “Our deterrent is invincible. Any attempt to undermine it will meet a decisive response, reflecting our confidence in both our strategic strength and commitment to regional stability.”
