COAS Army chief Asim Munir

RAWALPINDI (RNN TV) — Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and development, particularly in Balochistan, while warning that any violation of the country’s sovereignty will be met with full force.

Speaking at the 15th National Workshop held at General Headquarters (GHQ), General Munir noted that several development initiatives are already underway in Balochistan to uplift the region. However, he cautioned that foreign-backed terrorism remains the most significant threat to the province’s stability and progress.

The workshop brought together a diverse group from Balochistan—including parliamentarians, bureaucrats, civil society members, youth, academics, and media professionals—aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of national challenges and encouraging collaborative solutions. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this year’s workshop featured strong representation from Balochistan, reflecting its strategic importance.

General Munir emphasized the government’s focus on socio-economic development in the province and commended civil society’s efforts in promoting awareness. He called on all stakeholders to actively participate in Balochistan’s growth and prosperity.

Reaffirming the Army’s resolve, the COAS said hostile elements seeking to destabilize the region through violence and fear will not succeed. “The enemy is trying to incite unrest and hinder progress, but such nefarious designs will be thwarted,” he asserted.
