Tensions flared between Pakistan and India following reports that Indian forces carried out a nighttime assault targeting civilians across the border. According to security sources, Pakistan has responded with retaliatory strikes.

Residents near Muridke reported hearing multiple loud explosions, with initial accounts pointing to at least three blasts in the area.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif strongly condemned the Indian operation, calling it a “cowardly attack under the cover of darkness.” He vowed that Pakistan’s answer would be forceful and unmistakable.

“If they have any courage, they should face us directly on the battlefield,” Asif declared, accusing India of deliberately avoiding open confrontation while striking civilian areas.

He added that Indian forces lacked the bravery to step out in the open and had intentionally targeted non-combatants in their overnight offensive.

The situation along the border remains volatile as further developments are awaited.
