ISLAMABAD (ISPR) — Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt from across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur District during the night between October 29 and 30, killing four terrorists, including a senior commander, the military’s media wing reported on Wednesday.

According to the statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces detected the movement of a group of Khawarij militants attempting to cross into Pakistani territory.

“Own troops effectively engaged and foiled the Khawarij’s infiltration attempt. As a result of precise and skilful engagement, four Khawarij—including their leader and high-value target, Amjad alias Mazahim—were sent to hell,” the ISPR stated.

The slain commander, Amjad, was identified as the deputy to Khawarij leader Noor Wali and head of the Rehbari Shura of the so-called Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij. He was a wanted terrorist with a bounty of Rs5 million announced by the government. The ISPR noted that Amjad had orchestrated several terrorist attacks inside Pakistan while residing in Afghanistan.

Highlighting the cross-border threat, the ISPR said that the leadership of Fitna al Khawarij, based in Afghanistan, continues to plan and direct infiltration attempts into Pakistan to create a false impression of local presence and to boost the fading morale of their militants in Bajaur and Mohmand—areas where security forces have conducted effective counterterrorism operations.

Reaffirming its position, Pakistan urged the Interim Afghan Government to ensure that its soil is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

“This also validates our stance that Afghan soil continues to be used as a safe haven by Khawarij belonging to Fitna al Khawarij against Pakistan,” the statement emphasized.

The ISPR added that sanitisation operations are ongoing in the area to clear any remaining threats. It reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain steadfast in defending the nation’s borders and that the ongoing “Azm-e-Istehkam” counterterrorism campaign—approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan—will continue at full pace to eradicate all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
