
RAWALPINDI (RNN TV) – Indonesia’s Defence Minister, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at GHQ Rawalpindi on Tuesday. He was accompanied by a delegation including members from Indonesia’s military and intelligence agencies.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides discussed a wide range of topics, including bilateral defence cooperation, regional security, and ways to further strengthen military relations between the two countries.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong, long-standing ties between Pakistan and Indonesia, with both parties expressing their commitment to expanding strategic and defence collaboration.
Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the need for mutual cooperation in ensuring peace and stability in the region, while the Indonesian minister praised the Pakistan Army’s role in counter-terrorism efforts and reiterated Indonesia’s dedication to deepening defence relations with Pakistan.
