ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday honored the brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army and Air Force who sacrificed their lives for the country’s security in the face of Indian aggression.
President Zardari condemned India’s unprovoked attacks, emphasizing that such aggression had united the Pakistani people. He paid tribute to the martyrs, including those who lost their lives, and expressed condolences to the grieving families. Zardari praised the efforts of Pakistan’s forces during Operation Bunyamum Marsoos, which he said broke the enemy’s arrogance.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also paid homage to the fallen soldiers, describing the day as “Youm-i-Marka-i-Haq” (Battle of Truth Day). He commended Pakistan’s military for shattering India’s illusion of superiority and saluted the families of the martyrs. Sharif particularly honored the five PAF officers and six Army personnel martyred in defense of Pakistan, while also mourning the loss of 40 civilians, including 15 children and seven women.
The Prime Minister assured the families that the state would fully support them, reiterating the announcement of a “Martyrs’ Package” to provide for the bereaved. He prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the recovery of the injured.
