ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — Pakistan’s intelligence sources have revealed that India attempted to exploit the recent Pahalgam incident to stir internal unrest by targeting the Pakistan military and sowing division among the public, particularly supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to officials, the campaign aimed to trigger political backlash against the armed forces, expecting PTI’s social media to echo anti-military sentiment. However, the plan failed, as political parties, including PTI, condemned India’s accusations and stood united with the military.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reaffirmed his party’s full support for the armed forces. He criticized the government’s failure to convene an All Parties Conference over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it an “act of war.” Gohar also dismissed reports of mistreatment of Imran Khan in jail as Indian propaganda meant to divide Pakistanis.
A unanimous Senate resolution, backed by all major parties, denounced Indian aggression. Imran Khan, in a statement from prison, called the Pahalgam attack a repeat of the 2019 Pulwama “false flag” operation and warned that peace should not be mistaken for weakness.
India has reportedly blocked Khan’s and other Pakistani voices on social media, reflecting frustration over the failure to manipulate internal divisions.
