LAHORE (RNN TV) – Dr Omer Adil, a renowned TV anchor, has been summoned a second time by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore Circle regarding allegations of hate speech and defamation through social media.
The summons comes after Dr Adil failed to appear for the first hearing despite being previously called upon to record his statement. Dr Adil cited heart pain as the reason for his inability to appear at the first summons August 17, 2025, as explained to the FIA.

It is pertinent to mention here that the complaint was filed by Talat Mehmood, who claims that Dr Adil posted defamatory content online.
The NCCIA has now directed Dr Adil to appear in person on August 21, 2025, at 12:00pm and bring relevant documents. Non-compliance could result in legal consequences under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Dr Adil has yet to comment on the allegations.
