LAHORE (RNN TV) — ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq clarified on Tuesday that the visiting U.S. congressional delegation did not mention jailed PTI founder Imran Khan during their recent meeting with him.
In an official statement, the speaker said the U.S. lawmakers made it clear that they do not involve themselves in Pakistan’s internal political matters.
His remarks come in response to recent claims by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who alleged that he was excluded from meetings between U.S. officials and Pakistani government representatives.
The U.S. delegation is currently visiting Pakistan in connection with the Pakistan Minerals Forum 2025 and has held several meetings with top officials.
Addressing the PTI chairman’s claims, Sadiq said both Gohar and PTI Chief Whip Amir Dogar were, in fact, invited to a dinner hosted in honour of the U.S. delegation.
