Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan on Friday to discuss escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalam incident. This was their second meeting in 48 hours as tensions rise in South Asia.
Naqvi briefed the US envoy on India’s drone attacks, which have resulted in the deaths of innocent Pakistanis and a clear violation of international laws. He highlighted that Pakistan’s armed forces successfully shot down all Indian drones. Naqvi emphasized India’s role in stoking the crisis and warned that the region is on the brink of war.
The meeting also covered the impact of India’s May 6 missile attacks, which killed 31 civilians and injured over 50. In response, Pakistan downed five Indian jets and nearly 30 drones. US Political Counselor Zachary Harkenrider was also present during the discussion.
