Lahore-Motorway Toll Tax

ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced revised toll tax rates for the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M2), effective from August 26, 2025, and valid until August 25, 2026.

This annual increase follows the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement with the Frontier Works Organization’s subsidiary, Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited.

Why the Increase?

As per the concession agreement signed on April 23, 2014, with FWO’s operating company, toll charges are subject to a 10% annual hike starting from the second year of operations. The adjustment is aimed at generating funds for maintenance, rehabilitation, and smooth functioning of the motorway, one of the busiest highways in Pakistan.

Updated Toll Rates for M2 (2025–26)

The new toll charges vary by vehicle class, based on per-kilometre rates:

  • Cars, Jeeps & Taxis (Class 1): Rs1,330 (Rs3.72/km)

  • Wagons (Class 2): Rs2,240 (Rs6.24/km)

  • Buses: Rs3,130 (Rs8.73/km)

  • 2-Axle Trucks (Class 4): Rs4,460 (Rs12.45/km)

  • 3-Axle Trucks (Class 5): Rs5,800 (Rs16.20/km)

  • Articulated Trucks (Class 6): Rs7,460 (Rs20.83/km)

The revised rates will remain in force for the next year.
