ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) – The ruling PML-N has moved to address PPP’s concerns over the recently signed Pakistan-Saudi defence agreement.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will brief both houses of parliament on October 3, covering details of the pact and Pakistan’s stance on a 20-point agenda linked to ties with the US.
PPP leader Shazia Marri said her party welcomes the agreement but awaits a formal briefing. She added the PPP hopes Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will take Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari into confidence upon his return.
The development follows tensions within the coalition. PPP recently demanded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz withdraw her remarks against the party. On Wednesday, PML-N and PPP leaders met at the National Assembly, agreeing to settle disputes through dialogue and maintain unity.
