LAHORE (RNN TV) — The leadership of Lahore Press Club (LPC) has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers of the Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) following the union’s annual elections.
The message was conveyed by Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, Senior Vice President Salman Qureshi, Vice Presidents Nasira Atiq and Madiha Almas, General Secretary Afzal Talib, Joint Secretary Imran Sheikh, Finance Secretary Salik Nawaz, and other members of the Governing Body.
The newly elected PUJ leadership includes President Naeem Hanif, Senior Vice President Khurram Pasha, Vice President Sher Ali Khalti, General Secretary Qamar-ul-Zaman Bhatti, Joint Secretaries Khalid Rasheed and Talal Ishtiaq, Treasurer Jawad Hasan Gul, along with the other members of the Executive Council.
In his congratulatory message, Arshad Ansari emphasized that the new PUJ body will play a pivotal role in addressing the economic challenges faced by journalists and in resisting controversial laws such as the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). He added that the democratic process of these elections will further strengthen journalists’ struggles and reinforce PUJ as the sole representative organization of journalists in the country.
